Children's Ministry Team

Our Children's Ministry Team oversees the programs provided for children in grades K-5. A Sunday School Class for children meets in a classroom adjacent to the Lower Lobby of the Sanctuary Building.
In addition to the Sunday morning program, the Children's Ministry Team plans and conducts a Vacation Bible School each Summer. In recent years, the VBS has been a cooperative program with other churches in the area.
Anno Domini Class

Sunday School class for youth, grades 6-12. Anno Domini meets in a classroom on the balcony level of the Loehr Center building.

Music Ministry Team
Led By: Dona Johnson
Our Music Ministry Team is a joint effort by lay leaders and staff. The Music Committee oversees all the programs and activities which are then directed by our Music Coordinator, Dona Johnson. The team selects Praise Songs and Hymns to be used during Sunday morning worship and the Wednesday Night Praise Service.
Dona Directs the rehearsal and performance of the Praise Team. They meet on Wednesday afternoon at 5:15 for rehearsal before leading the congregation in the 7:00 p.m. Praise Service. The Praise Team also leads the Praise Time during Sunday worship.
Beginning with the Memorial Day weekend, we have an outdoor service in the beautiful Outdoor Chapel located just behind the main buildings. The Praise Team provides the music for this service. There is also an indoor Sanctuary service each week and soloists provide the special music during the Summer. This two-service schedule continues through the Labor Day weekend.

Adult Chancel Choir
Led By: Peggy Lippitt
West Lake Christian Church strives to make every Worship Service a special experience by offering a blend of contemporary music and hymns. On the last Sunday of each month we feature our Adult Chancel Choir singing one selection of traditional music chosen by the Choir Director.
The Chancel Choir consists of approximately fifteen voices. They lead the music during the 10:30 a.m. Worship Service from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. The Choir meets for practice in the Church Sanctuary at 5:00 p.m. on the two Wednesdays prior to the last Sunday of each month.

Chi Rho Kids Youth Group meets every Wednesday evening at 4:30 p.m. in the Loehr center with recreation, study, fellowship, and a meal. In addition to these regular meetings, the group enjoys occasional retreats and outings.
During the Summer, a full schedule of Summer Camp and Conference is offered for our youth. The camp and conference program is sponsored by the Christian Church in Mid-America and events are held at the Rickman Center in Jefferson City. The church provides financial assistance for youth wishing to attend.
Although we do not have a regular Youth Choir program, our youth love to sing and at times during the year the Music Ministry Team provides them with that opportunity.
